The Route 66 database is growing every month as contributors find new matchcovers and submit their matchcovers or scanned images to me to upload into this database. Uploading images of matchcovers “preserves” them for everyone in the world to enjoy. I am always looking for new content, either new Route 66 matchcover images provided by contributors like you, or new Route 66 matchcovers themselves which I am willing to purchase. Of course, any new Route 66 matchcovers that I do acquire will be scanned and uploaded to the Route 66 database.
If you have Route 66 matchcovers that do not appear on this website please contact me about options to save them. Can you scan them? I can send you suggestions about scanning. Would you prefer to sell them? With information about what you have I can make an offer. Let me know how I can help preserving your matchcovers or matchcover images for everyone to view.
I also can acquire collections of matchcovers regardless of whether or not they are from businesses along Route 66. There usually is some desire for matchcover collections that were primarily assembled before 1970. (Collections that were begun after 1970 usually have a preponderance of rear-strike matchcovers for which there is significantly less demand.) If I myself can not acquire your collection I may be able to put you in touch with another collector who may have a greater interest in what you have.
Thank you for your consideration,
Phil Gordon
